President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Nanda Prusty for Literature & Education. 102-yr-old “Nanda sir”, who provided free education to children and adults at Jajpur, Odisha for decades, raised his hands in a gesture of blessing the President.
While no one was watching, RBI has shifted 100 tonnes of its gold reserves back to India from UK. Most countries keep their gold in the vaults of the Bank of England or some such location (and pay a fee for the privilege). India will now hold most of its gold in its own vaults.
Media persons need to recognise that

is a national icon. They need to treat him with respect irrespective of his age or background. The repeated instances of casual disrespect are a reflection of a deep-rooted class bias.
A thousand years from now, my future generations may or may not remember what I did or read the books I wrote, but they will remember me as the ancestor who lived at the time the temples were rebuilt. This is how a civilisation confers immortality.
The new ASI dig at Rakhigarhi is throwing up some amazing finds from early, mature and late Harappan periods. Some are multi-storey buildings. These are just from a small area; there still are huge unexplored mounds. 1/n
Lakshadweep is just awesome for diving. Matches the best in the world….. have had turtles, octopuses and even reef sharks within touching distance. The Andamans are excellent too
I lived to see an Indian Prime Minister make such an unapologetic pitch for India's private sector.
When I wrote "Indian Renaissance" in 2006-7, I had hoped for such as day.
No small thing for someone who grew up in Jyoti Basu's Bengal
As I leave the Ministry of Finance to take up my new role at the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, I would like to thank Hon. FM

YEAR-1987, Former Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi's visits to USA .
When Mr Gandhi speaks, no translator is needed for the Foreign dignitaries.
This starkly highlights the difference between a visionary leader with a strong educational foundation and one without ! 🫢😆
If the heads of Penn/MIT/Harvard are not forced to resign after that performance, it will be a sign that the US too is past the point of no return. It is already too late for Europe. So, if US cannot turn back, we in India should make our own arrangements.
My father was born in a slave nation & he lived to see a time when his Prime Minister could command the stage like this in the world's most powerful country.

When my ancestors moved to Kashi circa 1780, they wept with joy at the temple reconstructed by Ahalyabai Holkar. I have lived to see the reconstruction of 2021. There is something about deeply felt civilizational memory .......

Very good news. The "wagh nakh" used by Chattrapati Shivaji to kill Afzal Khan will be brought back to India from UK.
This is such a major turn in our history, and I had no idea that the wagh nakh had survived!! So happy to hear that are reclaiming it..
As many of you are aware,
@vikramsampath
is constantly attacked personally by the Left cabal for the crime of writing a book about Savarkar. The latest is that he is accused of plagerism. The evidence is very weak as explained below 1/n
West Bengal seems to be waking up from 50 years of sleep...... something quite different is happening. I am often critical of my fellow Bengalis, but some deep awakening is taking place. Hopeful for the first time in my life.
The silence of the Bengali “intellectual” in the face of what is happening to Bangladeshi Hindus is both disgusting and unsurprising. The “aateil” have an opinion on every issue in the universe except on those where a spine is needed. They justified their treachery of Netaji;
It is good to see global "experts" take such an interest in Indian agriculture. Perhaps they should ask their own governments why they keep complaining to WTO about support to Indian farmers. Meanwhile, look forward to introduction of APMC mandis in Sweden & US
A really vicious cold bug has spread all over India (and the world). Almost everyone I know - including myself - has had a bad throat infection that then lingers for days as a chest congestion. Very annoying.
This is really sinister - the US government is putting in half a million dollars to promote atheism in Nepal. Why?? All in the name of freedom of religion. Listen to this to the end when the actual purpose is read out.
The Biden Administration spent HALF A MILLION DOLLARS of your money to promote atheism in Nepal. Then, they came to Congress to lie about it.
They just got BUSTED in real time.

Those who were gleefully clapping away after the unfortunate accident (no human casualties), you can put away those photos now.
The decline and collapse of elite universities in the US is near complete. They still have an edge in STEM but for social sciences and humanities, there is no pretence left. The closing of the Western mind was surprising quick. Wonder if this happened to us in the 12th century
The presidents of

So much for freedom and dialogue. This after I asked them a very common sense question about their home country.
A few weeks ago, I had raised the issue of how a tiny cabal controls Indian publishing and constantly imposes ideological censorship. We have just witnessed one example of how this insidious control is wielded. 1/n
Now that India's strong growth performance is no longer in doubt, let me deal with some common questions raised about India's economic performance: "FDI is going to Vietnam and not coming to India"; "Bangladesh now has a higher per capita income" and so on. 1/n
Factually untrue.Given devastation in Japan in WW2, India had the largest industrial base in Asia in 1947. The main achievement of Nehru's industrial policy was to freeze India's entrepreneurial class. With one exception, the large business families of 1947 were the same in 1991.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is the architect of modern India. When he took over the reigns of India’s destiny, not a pin was manufactured in India. But instead of blaming the past, cursing his predecessors and making excuses, he rolled up his sleeves and built our modern republic.

Another Hindu teacher in Bangladesh has been insulted by Muslim students he once taught and was forced to resign. Every day, thousands of Hindus in Bangladesh are being pressured to sign resignation letters. Their aim is to remove all 2.5 million Hindus working in Bangladesh.
We had always known that international handlers were involved, but reading their handbook was quite instructive.
The detailed instructions - that we can now compare with actual events - is fascinating.
Facebook has just informed me that my post on 26/11 Mumbai attacks is against their "Community Standards" on spam........ really??? And how is it spam? or "false advertising"?
India suffers from an elite that is riddled with people who shamelessly undermine the country. The root of this is the fact that, after Independence, those who had collaborated with the British occupation were not purged but allowed to flourish.
In other words, we Hindus do not even exist. So, our history, culture & world view cannot possibly matter. When Europeans colonizers wanted to fully take over a place like Australia, they declared it "terra nullis" (uninhabited) - this is the same idea.
TIME magazine thinks that "Hindu Lives Matter" is a dangerous idea.
#Hinduphobia
is perhaps one of the last forms of prejudice that can be publicly practiced in the West without consequences.
It is extraordinary how much effort is being put in by Western media (BBC, DW etc) to deny atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. What drives this? Is it entirely organic or being coordinated?
Violent anti-government protests in Bangladesh have fueled many false claims of attacks against the nation's Hindu minority.
Here's what's been circulating online:
This is deliberate misinformation. Very disappointing. India has vaccinated 135mn (3.1mn in the last 24 hours alone). If you nothing +ve to contribute, kindly refrain from spreading fake news.
Evidently Indians are among the most unhappy people on Earth..... worse that Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, Russia, and even Pakistan. These bullshit indices sometimes stun me....
For those outraging over the lions baring their fangs, the original Mauryan lions also bare their fangs. It was a symbol of imperial power - not some pacifist iconography. Some replicas created post-Independence turned it into a "grin". Those are not true to the original

Three of the world’s top five economies are in Asia, but global norms and certification are still set in the North Atlantic. Neither China nor Japan has made a dent, I think this is an area where India can succeed.
It would indeed be nightmare if India's economy dropped to US$10bn. Perhaps Forbes should hire journalists who know the difference between billions and trillions.
Huge hoard of copper weapons and items found in Mainpuri. Estimated to be around 4k years old i.e. similar age as the Sinauli finings. Adds to evidence that Gangetic plains had a developed civilization contemporary to Harappan. It was a warrior culture

All in favour of technology, but this is totally soulless. It completely misses the point of the exercise..... it is no just a "disposal" problem but one of returning the idol to the elements with respect
The United States came within a quarter of an inch from civil war. Let that sink in. Whoever is playing this dangerous game, needs to be hunted down. Never forget that civilisation is a Ponzi Scheme, it is nasty when it unwinds. Never assume it will not happen in your lifetime.
The genocide of Bengali Hindus should never be forgotten or forgiven. I am so glad
@TulsiGabbard
is drawing attention to this horrible act of ethnic cleansing.
Hindus & religious minorities in Bangladesh continue to be targeted & persecuted, as they have been since 1971 when the Pakistani army systematically murdered, raped & drove from their homes millions of Bengali Hindus because of their religion & ethnicity.
Ah yes, the 10-year old Elon must be held responsible for the evils of Apartheid because he bought Twitter 30 years after the end of Apartheid. All makes sense .....
Elon Musk grew up in elite white communities in South Africa, detached from apartheid’s atrocities and surrounded by anti-Black propaganda.
He sees his takeover of Twitter as a free speech win but in his youth did not suffer the effects of misinformation.

As a Shakta Hindu,I find it deeply offensive that my religious traditions are deliberately misrepresented by those who wish to leverage it for their political ideology. Several manifestations of Shakti have been worshipped in India since the Neolithic Age.Nothing to do with caste
