So @TempopoGame is coming out this Thursday, and you know what - it’s fricken magical. If you’d like a review copy (Steam/xbox/switch) please hit me up at sanatana at witchbeam dot com dot au. I realize it’s a bit late to be saying this. Miss y’all, but Twitter is over for me

Ok so likely nobody cares but I found this video of someone running into literally the exact same problem and talking about why every popular mouse sucks. But there was an interesting contender at the end https://t.co/jWzhGukD8t

Googling and Reddit threads tell me this is a known Mac thing where Bluetooth mouse connections always sucked, even beyond the logical polling limitations. Unfortunate. Maybe I’ll buy a wired mouse.

So if you ya e a MacBook with a 120hz screen and want to use a wireless mouse without jittery movement, what do you actually do? Buy a mouse with a proper USB-A dongle and use a USB-C to A adaptor attached to the laptop? From what I can tell, Bluetooth mice are 90hz, not ideal.

They're calling it the most effective Get-Out-the-Vote message in history.

As bad and unethical as AI internet search results are, I’m kinda curious to see some research comparing them to the search results we get now, the first page is just an endless war between user wants, advertising revenue, and SEO scammers. I miss searching the web 15 years ago.

If all this stuff is so untrustworthy and useless and has no impact on what people think, why do the billionaires keep buying all the new and old media. Either they hate their wealth, or they are massive lying pieces of garbage. I wonder which is more likely.

Bezos says that a popular outlet endorsing someone has no impact on how people vote. Imagine the level your gaslighting skill needs to be at before you even attempt to roll the dice on this one. We live in a world of Rupert Murdoch media. Their entire biz model is endorsement.

Queensland backing the liberal party (that's Australian for Republican, but slightly less crazy) is pretty sad. Hopefully the USA makes bettr choices shortly. Not that Labour was perfect but there was a comfort I took in knowing they didn't actively hate most people.

It’s been dying for a long time but with the TOS update allowing all our creations to be used for ai training and the block changes it might be time to retire fully from this site on a personal level. There were already more than enough reasons before this of course…

Someone should hire me to make a modified version of Netflix’s English (CC) subtitle tracks for bad movies. Deaf viewers are being ripped off when it says “thrilling music continues” and what it really means is “awkward over the top music attempts to fix the tone of a bad scene”

I first saw a prototype for this game that the designer was running on a laptop sitting on a chair during a game dev dinner organized at pax. I knew it would be special because people were getting glued to the screen, such a fun concept and they built the theming on top so well.
I can't believe it's been over 7 years since we released Death Squared. Who knew 2017 was so long ago! 🤯 Fun fact! ✨ The game originally started as a prototype for the 2015 48 hour Global Game Jam, themed “What do we do next?”

I’m hesitant to make bold claims about the accessibility of Tempopo because we can’t really test it on thousands of people to see how it goes, but I’m really hopeful it will be inherently accessible by design with strong layering of feedback and single button control options.

There are always going to be some accessibility elements that require unique options and behavior toggles, but a lot of things can be pre-empted with careful design decisions along the way that make the core experience inherently accessible.

Definitely on board with this approach, use shape and value differences as much as possible to differentiate things and let colour be a secondary layer for aesthetics. Similar approach with other gameplay elements too, visual effects for every audio cue etc. multi layer it all.
Based take. Colour blind filters on video games are usually made with good intent, but often without the positive effect the devs hoped for. Designing the game to not rely on colour alone in the first place, followed by custom colour choices (in-game or UI), is far better ✌️

Notable to me that every for-profit information hub is injecting AI into every corner of their services while the largest nonprofit information hub is fighting it off like their the Night's Watch
New: some Wikipedia editors have formed WikiProject AI Cleanup, “a collaboration to combat the increasing problem of unsourced, poorly-written AI-generated content on Wikipedia.”
