Not taking sides… not getting political… not even commenting on the abilities on display this past weekend… I’m just simply observing how weird it is that we seem to use pancake flipping proficiency as a benchmark for who is best suited to be our Prime Minister. It’s odd, no?

3/4 Call me crazy, but I truly believe people would prefer to see their politicians fight to get along, instead of just plain fight. It’s okay to disagree, but the brand of politics I subscribe to the most is where we recognize our ‘opponents’ strengths & collaborate. Thoughts?

2/4 my take: we must work harder to find common ground vs focusing on what divides us. Debating differing viewpoints is a healthy part of democracy, but if we prioritize commonalities we can bridge divides, build stronger communities & frankly do better by the folks we represent.

1/4 @ckpgnews put together a one-hour special on the growing division in politics – A topic that I think couldn’t be more timely. They taped it back in July, but it sure rings true today. I’d encourage you to tune in! 📺 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲—> https://t.co/sj5AEstQBg

I am fairly Twitter-absent, but tonight I was reflecting back on my favourite Twitter experience... That one time during lockdown when our entire community, those who want to be us... and KISS, came together to support https://t.co/hrGiT7jkUk against those goats and @j_mcelroy

Today’s news in #bcpoli has me coming out of Twitirement. @shirleybond’s legacy: BC’s hardest working MLA. Her absence fighting for the North in the leg will be huge. More of my thoughts: https://t.co/KzNYrY6oZo Thank you for your public service, Shirley🙏🏼

A new leader of the @bcliberals will be selected today… Can we all just agree the @shirleybond did a superb job as the interim Leader for the past 14 months or so!! I found it to be a real benefit having someone from the North leading a party, bringing our perspective forward!

📣𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪: Compared to cities with similar and usually greater populations in BC and elsewhere in Canada, the @CityofPG covers the largest area: approx 330 square kilometres! We have one of the longest Road networks of over 735km+ of Roads with 190km+ of Sidewalks!

Lastly - I have received reports that some of our crews have been receiving abusive comments or gestures, or are forced to temporarily stop or alter their work due to dangerous behaviour happening around their equipment. Do not do that - it’s not acceptable.

Please continue to exercise caution as both motorists and as pedestrians, and give the crews the patience and space they need to get the job done safely and efficiently! Only drive of necessary to keep our roads as clear as possible! 🚜🚗

Our crews, supplemented by contractors are out in full force working around the clock to clear our streets with this ongoing and HUGE dump of snow. Day, night & over the Holiday’s, our crews will be focusing on priority 1 & 2 routes for roads & sidewalks first, then residential.

🚜❄️𝗦𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗔𝗟: We have officially hit the 20cm+ snowfall within a 24hr period which triggered a 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘺 𝘚𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘧𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. What does that mean? It means our expected completion time has been extended by 24hrs due to the extreme snow volume!

Please do not take out your frustrations on our frontline crews and staff who are working hard to clear our roads or answer your service calls. Recognize that these folks are doing their job and slowing them down only prolongs the snow removal process.
