America is such an incredibly weird aviation country man. You can fly a C172 with only 15 hrs instruction (!) & no medical, & on the other hand you need 1500 hrs (as opposed to +- 220 hours in the rest of the world) to fly as a first officer on an airliner. Neither makes sense.
Under the new MOSAIC (Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification) rules coming into force in the U.S. in October ‘25, ALL Cessna 172s (And some 182s) can now be flown under a Light-Sport Aircraft certification. The Sport Pilot license for this needs no medical (A U.S.

I love my job and like where I live (Gran Canaria), however I genuinely miss meteorological seasons, rain, clouds, cold, thunder & green nature. I’d love to move back to NL (especially back to the Veluwe) however houses are ridiculously expensive & there’s few aviation jobs.

Serious question, but what does pumping the throttle achieve on the DHC-6? . The movements aren’t maintained long enough to even allow the engines to spool up, so what’s the point?.
Remember that crazy approach at St. Barthelemy in the Caribbean? Here´s an onboard with DHC-6 Twin Otter. (I´ve seen smoother roller coasters) .
