Would really appreciate people supporting me in this endeavour, a project I've, from experience, recognised is too big for one individual. You can help play a role in preserving Labour Party history. Any Labour Mutuals able to repost would be greatly appreciated!

The fact we aren't far of a 5 way 19% tie is both scary and hilarious - absolute state of things

Congratulations @LucyMPowell, Labourβs newly elected Deputy Leader. Lucy has always been a proud defender of Labour values, and that is exactly what we need in this moment. Together, we will fight for Britain. For decency and national renewal.

Pack it in with the copium. It's a terrible result for Labour. Yes, tactical voting played a part but come on now. Labour are heading for disaster next May if they carry on as they are.

I don't think people are fully ready for it, and It feels perhaps people don't *really* think America will drift into autocracy but without a consensus on democracy you're left with a worrying foot in the gas pedal for authoritarianism.

It's only a matter of time - it's starting to creep now between denial of results to unseen before levels of mass and united gerrymandering with the intention of not just enhancing their own chances but outright garranteeing there chances of winning the house.

This gerrymandering push does make me rather sceptical that the dems could win the house. Talks to something deeper regarding American democracy though being the fact that it genuinely may be crumbling in front of us. When one side has essentially renounced the principle

Increasing partisanship in senate elections too make it difficult for dems there - they have about 5 realistic pick up opportunities over the next cycle excl/ long shots like ohio and alaska whereas the republican have a huge 12 maybe more if you include states like VI or NJ

It really feels like game over for the dems if this happens imo. It's basically prevents a trifecta for the rest of the decade plus - likely the next decade too unless they can pick up some state legislatures. Democrats suffer from the fact alot of their seats are

Iβm so disappointed by this framing, a pluralistic Labour Party that respects every shade of red is when we are at our strongest. Lucy was in government a MONTH ago. Be serious, Labour women have enough people trying to tear us down without tearing down each other.
"We wonβt win with a deputy leader on the outside, throwing rocks and with no clout." Bridget Phillipson hits out at rival Lucy Powell as Labour members cast ballot in deputy leadership election
