when I worked on Bubbun, playtesters said the game was hard, to make the game easier I made the bubble platforms not explode on walls or on each other.
people said it was easy after that and ended up enjoying the other elements of the game more while becoming 'fair-er' i guess?
in my game Fistful of Nothing, made every enemy only able to attack you with their weapons only if they're on screen just to take that element of frustration that comes from getting killed by an off-screen enemy

Juice is just feedback. For every move a player does - reward them with a visual or audio cue.

in an old grappling game prototype, I added an aim assist for grappling to different points if you were already holding. it was just checked if it was within angle range rather than collision
didn't want players fighting the controls
got complaints when it wasn't there!

few months ago I was trying to make an IO style game. you had to absorb bullets and slap bullets away from you. very risk and reward.
wasn't able to make it as good as I wanted BUT really liked how good all the controls types were supported
