It is just not feasible to run this account without scheduling software. I have too much going on to log on every day to share this history with you, and it's just not worth paying for a blue tick. And so, sadly, I must leave.

I kept going because it was easy enough to keep tweeting as I was already writing longer Facebook posts (find me there here: https://t.co/mRyc8jJQAM) but the biggest change that has driven this decision is the latest announcement that Tweetdeck will go behind a paywall.

I'm really sad to leave Twitter; I made this account at the same time as creating my blog nearly 7 years ago. But the endless changes to Twitter just make it unsustainable to keep going. Algorithms change endlessly and engagement keeps going down. People are leaving.
