Discussing obesity as if it's an irreversible condition means that it can become one for many. The vast majority have the tools to lose weight and we shouldn't pretend otherwise. No need for expensive weight loss jabs, but some determination and application. It is doable.

There is nothing hateful about stating no man can give birth and no woman can have a penis. We need to treat people with courtesy and respect, but that cannot come at the expense of scientific fact. There is no debate - that's the truth whether it's politically correct or not.

Fully support the calls from health service staff to reinstate the word 'woman' in various NHS webpages, including for cancer. Woman is not a dirty word, it's 100% scientifically and biologically correct. Don't be afraid to use it. It's a fact.

Physicians and scientists should not ignore medical reality. I will not say 'egg-producing', it's 'female'. The word 'woman' is not 'problematic'. Those of us in the scientific community should be willing to stand up for that, even if it means receiving some unpleasant tweets.
