Thank you @SheriffSF and Sheriff Miyamoto. You literally keep us safe at 911 everyday and we so appreciate you seeing the incredible work of our public safety dispatchers!.
In what could be the scariest moment of our lives-- we dial three numbers on our phone and expect the person on the other end is an expert on everything… from first aid to burglaries and everything in between! #911 #dispatchers handle it all while staying calm. Happy National

It’s my favorite week of the year. Dispatcher appreciation week!.
April 13-19 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. This week, we celebrate the invaluable contributions of the unsung heroes of San Francisco's emergency response system – our incredible 911 Public Safety Dispatchers. Dispatchers work 24/7 to keep our communities

Earthquake! I felt that one. At first I wasn’t sure if it was the wind because we have some pretty good gusts blowing. An EQ is ALWAYS a good reminder to be prepared for ANY emergency.
Hey SF, did you feel it? A M4.2 earthquake just struck near Dublin. Don't forget to drop, cover, and hold on when shaking starts. Visit to learn about @myshakeapp and get early warning of strong shaking.

It’s such a pleasure to honor our people. Nicole is known for incredible expertise in all areas of 911 operations, her critical work on the CAD team but most of all for how much she cares about her colleagues. We are lucky to have you and so excited to celebrate you Nicole!
🎉Congratulations to Nicole Workman, the 2024 recipient of the Toni Hardley Award for Excellence in Supervision for DEM’s 911 Dispatch!

Getting ready for a big weekend in San Francisco. Go to for all the deets.
Public safety remains the #1 priority for Mayor @DanielLurie, @SFPD and all City departments. Residents & visitors will notice an increased presence of law enforcement around event areas to offer added layers of security & safety to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

To my fellow surfer and favorite weather guy - thank you for your partnership and detailed weather predictions. We are grateful to you and the entire @NWSBayArea team for all you do - you are always there for us when we need you and we could not do what we do without you.
For #NationalWeatherpersonsDay we would like to send a special shoutout to Brian Garcia from @NWSBayArea ❕ We appreciate your insights and collaboration to keep us weather aware, while helping residents prepare for everything from tornados to tsunamis.

What a joy today to award Cathy Osorio Dispatcher of the Year! Cathy was nominated based on her response to complicated call while on radio. But Cathy has been a leader and example to many during a particularly hard year, facing it with strength and helping so many others.
Congratulations Cathy Osorio, DEM's Division of Emergency Communications Operations Employee of the Year for 2024❕

Yesterday @SF_emergency DEM emergency services division’s Jenny and Jackie started work for their deployment to @ReadyLA @LACity to support the EOC in planning and the joint information center. I know they will be a great support to the efforts down south. Thanks J & J

Lots of people felt that jolt this morning. That small earthquake is an important reminder. We need every San Franciscan who is able to take action to be prepared. At @SF_emergency we work everyday to prepare our City to respond and serve you when disaster strikes. @SF72org.
Good morning 🌞 did you feel that? Take this as a reminder to get ready before the big one hits! You’re more prepared than you think you are - just take a few minutes to gather supplies and make a plan with your people.

This night crew worked our EOC for evening mayoral inauguration activities. But as emergency managers our discussions, hearts & minds were with our colleagues in LA County. When you say the word, we will be there to support. Sending our love to you @CountyofLA @ReadyLA @LACity

It’s NYE & we at @SF_emergency wish everyone a safe and fun night. But the reality is that NYE gets very busy at 911 b/c sometimes people have too much fun? So please use 911 for life safety emergencies. And if you want to report noise or illegal fireworks use 311. Enjoy!.
🎆Keep yourself and others safe during the holidays. Call 3-1-1 to report noise complaints like illegal fireworks. Please keep 9-1-1 available only for life safety emergencies.🎆

We will not have a final assessment of what kind of storm we received today but we know it was cause for alarm especially coming just over a week after the Tsunami event. Please read our statement for today and look for more information in the coming days. Stay safe out there.

Thank you @sfpublicworks - for cleaning up the storm mess and helping to keep everyone safe. We appreciate you!.
The rains and high winds have subsided but our tree crews, who started early this morning are still on the job and will be going strong into the night, removing dangerous trees damaged in the storm. Here they are at 25th and Mission streets.

Damage reports from today’s storm (& possible tornado @NWSBayArea will determine whether that happened or not later) continue to roll in. Many trees down, power outages &building damage did occur. So please stay safe out there today so our crews and teams can focus on clean up.
