Unpopular (?) opinion: Just because IEA and others find there is no "need" for new oil and gas fields in a 1.5C-aligned scenario does not mean there is absolutely no "room" for such. Nor, as Christophe describes in this show, does stopping such necessarily help bring about 1.5C.

Corollary: a complicated, multi-part problem like housing affordability is going to require many important (critical, even) fixes, even if any given one of those fixes may be thought of as "small bore" to *somebody*.
Abundance/YIMBY critics keep accusing us of being in the pocket of developers or big tech or a front to build data centers. This critique rests on the belief that no one could sincerely think that regulatory reform is important enough to devote a political project to. And so,
