Ahead of our conference this weekend, we are proud to share our new party political broadcast. At a time when people are uneasy about the future and tired of politics that avoids the big decisions, our message is clear: we are building something new.

After the rain comes the rainbow! 🌈 We had an absolutely incredible time at Newry Pride on Saturday, celebrating the very best of the LGBTQIA+ community!! 🥳🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Last month SDLP members and activists attended EuroPride in Lisbon along with comrades from across Europe in Rainbow Rose. When LGBTQIA+ rights are being undermined across the continent it's crucial we make our voice heard.

🏳️‍🌈 We had an absolutely incredible day at Omagh Pride!! 🏳️‍⚧️ Despite the downpour the town was full of joy and positivity, celebrating our rural LGBTQIA+ community!

Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Intersex and non-binary people exist—and are loved. 🌹🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

SDLP Youth will always stand in support of trans rights 🏳️‍⚧️🫶

🏳️‍⚧️ Trans rights are human rights 🏳️‍⚧️ The UKSC judgement is a devastating blow to trans people in Britain and further afield. Now and every day we must stand with our trans siblings. 🏳️‍⚧️ Is cearta daonna iad cearta tras 🏳️‍⚧️

Trans Pride 2024! We were proud to stand with our trans, non-binary and intersex siblings. Today, we celebrate trans joy and stand in solidarity with the trans community and celebrate all identities; trans, non-binary and intersex 🏳️‍⚧️🩷

Fermanagh Pride 2024! Now that we’ve had a chance to recover from the amazing weather, we want to say a huge congrats to the Fermanagh Pride team! Seeing so many rural prides this year has been powerful and we’re going to keep turning up and supporting them 🏳️‍⚧️☀️🏳️‍🌈

Tonight we met as a group and came to the unanimous decision to support @ClaireHanna in her run to be party leader. Claire has shown continuous support and respect for the LGBTQ community, and turning up when we need it most. Thank you, Claire! 🏳️‍🌈🩷🏳️‍⚧️

Also congratulations to Pete being Grand Marshal of the parade as the chair of Newry, Mourne and Down council has continually supported equality in rural areas!

We had an amazing day at Newry Pride. Our councillors Doire and Killian have worked hard with the Newry Pride team to deliver an amazing day. To Newry Pride, congratulations on an amazing day, and bringing your colours of pride back to Newry!

Under Colum Eastwood's leadership the SDLP became a passionate voice in support of equal marriage. We will always be grateful for the leadership he has shown on LGBTQIA+ rights and wish him well in the future. Thank you Colum 🏳️‍⚧️🩷🏳️‍🌈
