New Irelanders are pursuing constitutional change because they’re focussed on growth, reducing inequalities and improving public services. Telling people who want change to ‘relax’ isn’t going to cut it in such an unequal and malfunctioning society.
So much for a growing momentum for a United Ireland. It doesn’t exist; let’s all relax and focus on growth, reducing inequalities and improving public services.

Planting street trees as traffic chicanes would go a long way to increasing the canopy cover in Belfast, Derry and other urban areas, as well as helping to reduce speeding and make streets safer for play and recreation. But the Department for Infrastructure don’t want to know…

Gaeilge on this sign does not detract from the British English on it. It doesn’t erode or threaten anyone else’s identity. The vandalism at Shandon Park is a symptom of a tiny number of bigots who continue to demonstrate their inability to live side-by-side with their neighbours.

Let’s examine the signatories to *that* letter about the Irish Language: ❌ Un-elected Lord who constantly gets into bother for tweeting racist guff. ❌ Chair of the LCCC, described by BBC as “legal entity that represents illegal orgs”. ❌ Former NI Leader of xenophobic UKIP.

I was with Palestinian families at Shatila refugee camp in Beirut yesterday when the ceasefire was announced. It’s a moment of relief, grief and hope that genocide is coming to an end. But peace doesn’t happen overnight. We have to be vigilant, the world has to keep watching.

In light of a lot of recent debate, I think its worth restating that ALL of us should be focused and committed to building an Ireland that is worth living for, not one that is worth killing for.

For what it’s worth, I think both Heather Humphreys and Catherine Connolly will help to move the conversation forward about a New Ireland, in their own different ways. I don’t think I could’ve said that about Jim Gavin, or Maria Steen who would LOVE the DUP… #Áras25

Just in case it helps 👀… The chambers in the German Bundestag in Berlin, and Belfast City Hall are very different places, but both are at the heart of their reunified countries. Let this be the last time Irish citizens in the North have no vote on our President #Áras25

I just do not understand how successive Irish Governments continue to fund this with public money?
🔴 BREAKING NEWS: €99.1million more of Irish taxpayers' money allocated to horse and greyhound racing in #Budget2026 - that's €79,280,000 for Horse Racing Ireland and €19,820,000 for Greyhound Racing Ireland. Government ignored calls for funding to be scrapped.
