This is great to see people calling out the struggles that low income individuals and families face every day. Let’s build a society that makes it easier to overcome those pressures.
Coco Gauff says playing tennis is not real pressure compared to people who are struggling to feed their families: “I think it's just putting my life into perspective.. I realize in a way it's pressure, but it's not. There are people struggling to feed their families. There are

Rut is amazing! Love to see her jumping into the race to make a difference in local politics! Workforce Development often is viewed as a state or national issue, when in reality its the local focus that gets stuff done!
It's official: I'm running for Burien City Council, Position #2. https://t.co/1htaAcSzXi

This is a brilliant thread on an insightful study. Economic inequities are rising post Covid. The “mental tax” on low income households trying to optimize every dollar is something we see every day @SJIopeningdoors with our participants.
For months I've been wondering about the disconnect between the red-hot labor market & icy-cold consumer sentiment. Why are Americans, particularly lower-income ones w/ the fastest wage growth, so pessimistic about their finances? What are we missing? 🧵 https://t.co/4mfjr6d8Gg

I recently introduced a bipartisan bill to help increase health care access in rural areas. The 8th District is ~10,000 sq miles. Many people need to drive a distance to receive care. We need to ensure there are doctors in rural areas to provide that care.

The power of public-private partnerships took center stage in Portland, Maine today. Deputy Under Secretary, Stacy Dean, praised Maine for its approach to growing the economy and restoring individuals’ career pathways through SNAP E&T. “Maine is a model for the nation.”

Amazon, Alphabet, Meta, Microsoft have collectively incurred $10 billion in expenses related to their massive job culls and cost cutting, while in return receiving $800 billion to their market caps as a reward from Wall Street. Totally ridiculous system. https://t.co/15h5j8RLqk
