And how many Gold Gloves would have Jeter ended up with had Alex not come to the Yankees, and stayed at Shortstop?
@OleTimeHardball Ozzie Smith wouldn’t have been a starter long enough to become the Wizard of Oz if he played when Jeter played. You can’t OPS .500 for 5 years in modern baseball and still get in a lineup. I’m taking Jeter’s career all day……

55 years old. This is the first time I finished coaching a game with 4 players on the court for my team. We have been thru a lot very early in the season. But it’s not what happens to you…it’s how you respond. Great Win for the @RegisUniversity MBB Team tonight.

Settle down. I coached at a JC. Taft College. Should’ve won State in ‘85. Was 15-0 when we had whole squad. Believe we had beaten 9 of 16 at State by 12 or more that year. Was just saying it’s a much bigger hill to climb when you start off at JC. You best be a little delusional.
@jrichardgoodman There’s been a lot of delusion. There’s been a few JUCO teams that can play D1 teams. JUCO have many guys that just didn’t have the grades not necessarily the talent. I lot of NBA players can name guys that they thought should have made just didn’t. So 🛑that disrespect

Scottie was one huge Hue Hollins bad call away, in Game 5 vs the Knicks in ‘94 playoffs, from leading the Bulls to NBA title…without Mike.
When Scottie was given the reigns of title winning team without MJ he failed to lead admirably, he couldn’t get out of the 2nd round and didn’t win MVP. So never. He was a dude but never “that dude” The NBA title is about having “That Dude”. He clearly wasn’t it

As Tara VanDerveer dad once told her on the importance of having players. "You don't win the Kentucky Derby on donkeys."
No great coach did it without having great players. There are no geniuses, whiz kids, etc. The true genius is in knowing it’s all about the players. Great players make you look amazing, mediocre players make you look funny in the light. Being able to identify, develop,

Chabot ‘Special’: Stack alignment. 5 & 4 on left block. 2 & 3 on right block. 1, on top, dribble entry to right wing. 3 zipper cut to the top. 1 reverses the ball to 3. 2 comes off of the double screen. 4 back screens Center (middle man of the zone). 3 throws lob to 5.

Similar to an action Rich Botelho ran at Chabot College in the 80s. His wrinkle was as 2 came off 5 & 4’s double, 4 would back screen the Center for a lob for 5. Outside Forward of the zone would slide out to take away 2. Center would try to fight over the top/high side of 5.

…right corner (who cuts to left corner). After passing to Walton on left wing, man on top screens down for man who set flex screen. As this is happening, man on right wing rub cuts off player setting down screen. Flex screener comes off down screen for top of circle jump shot.

Dr. Jack’s ‘Turnout’ Offense ended with similar action. With ball on top, Walton steps up to set back screen for man on left wing. Ball gets passed to Walton on left wing. Man who received Walton’s back screen, continues through to right block to set ‘flex’ screen for man in…

As in football. Buttonhook is not going to work if you don’t sell the Go route.
"Your stop needs to be a surprise." Stopping is the most efficient way to create space. But if you are decelerating before you stop, the defense is going to slow down, limited the amount of space you are going to create.
