The media frenzy over Dominic Raab’s comments on “taking the knee” is farcical. BBC calling it “highly embarrassing & at the worst possible time”. It was perfectly reasonable, & should not have caused offence to anyone. Most fair & decent people in the country would agree.

Prince Charles says that our Net Zero commitments are vital to save the planet. He doesn’t mention that if we closed down the UK entirely, it would make only 1% difference to global emissions. And China would make that up in a few months.

Tesco claims that Brexit will add 5% to food prices. It fails to mention that import duties on foodstuffs from non-EU sources could well be cheaper. Also that any import duties on food from the EU are entirely under UK control.

The EU says that if we want “privileged access” to the Single Market, we have to observe their rules. No. The quid pro quo they get for giving us access to their market is that THEY get “privileged access” to OUR market. That’s how FTAs work.

The Leave vote in 2016 was absolutely unconditional — no reference to any deal or conditions, no ifs or buts. For Remainers now to say “There is no mandate for a clean Brexit” is just plain wrong. To seek to make Brexit conditional on a deal is a denial of democracy.

A new poll suggests that few Brits believe we will leave the EU with a good deal. I believe we can end up with an excellent deal — but only if we LEAVE FIRST. Today, the EU regards us as a renegade province. After we leave, they will have to deal with us as a free nation.

Can we please kill this Remainer myth that “nobody voted for no-deal”. We voted to leave. Logically this means “leave as best we can”, so if we can’t get a good deal, the default position is no-deal. Cameron was clear we’d leave the SM & CU. Boris has a clear mandate for no-deal.
