I spend a lot of time on here defending the judiciary. But sentencing like this makes it difficult. These are not victimless crimes, and need to be treated far more seriously. We can’t jail people for heat of moment posts that incite violence yet not for premeditated activity.

Police Scotland have logged more than 3,000 complaints in 48 hours since the new hate crime law came into force. But no, of course, this law won’t be weaponised by malicious actors. No wonder so many MSPs are avoiding interviews.

I’m not sure this is factually accurate. But let’s say it is. Let’s say the PM, acting as counsel, obtained a legal decision, from a judge, that his client should be given leave to remain in the UK. And then let’s assume that years later that client’s son is responsible for an.
Ahhhh imagine if a human rights lawyer had fought very hard for the right of those responsible for genocide in Rwanda to stay here and be given a new identity. Then imagine he produced a son who became a murderer. Then imagine that lawyer became the Prime Minister. Gosh. Can.

This will be my last tweet on the subject, however wanted to clarify my position for those who have questioned whether I'm a 'transphobe'. It is a subject that I think very little about, but when I do, I treat it like it like religion. I think every religion is equally untrue.

This is - trying to find an apposite word for it - scary. We shouldn’t be recording hurty feelz. Making the perception of an individual the defining characteristic for recording, even for “non crimes”, is extremely problematic. What to do with these recorded *legal* actions? 🤷♂️.

I must have been watching a different Marr show. I saw no attacks by @AndyBurnhamGM “on Scotland”. On the contrary: he wants his citizens to be able to come here freely. I saw him criticise a decision of @scotgov. That is not, on any sensible basis, an attack on Scotland.
Fascinating watching Andy Burnham continue his attacks on Scotland this morning, clearly calculating that his path to the Labour leadership depends on him being more of an English nationalist than Johnson or Starmer. #marr.
