At @ACEA_auto #FutureDriven event, @beuc DG @arcapde talks about how the EU can accelerate the supply of cheaper EVs, especially in the second-hand market. The benefits for electrification are the greatest for consumers, but they buy 2nd-hand. This should be the priority.

We've heard @tzitzikostas talk a lot about transport affordability. He wants cheaper EVs, also in the 2nd-hand market. He wants to tackle transport poverty. He wants to make it easier to book train tickets and he wants better passenger rights. This a (very) good start.
BEUC welcomes @tzitzikostas' focus on consumer-friendly transport! 🎉.Commitment to 2025 & 2035 CO2 targets for carmakers is key, but so is making EVs affordable, especially in the second-hand market. 🚗 We also need more rail improvements, beyond just high-speed options.
