These EU stats are approximately the standards in the UK too which ReformUK and their sympathisers want to move us away from. Be careful what you wish for
Europe is not perfect. We know it. We say it first. We want a Europe that is more efficient, more sovereign, more autonomous. Faster in taking decisions, closer to citizens, with a stronger Parliament and real democratic power. We criticise Europe because we want it to work

Very touching / and highly relevant to tonight’s EU negotiations
Read this text from Volodymyr Kukharenko to understand the everyday life of Ukrainian people: I have not been on vacation for four years. I have had no business trips to establish new connections. Currently, I live and work about 70% of the time without electricity. I had to buy

Speaks for itself really. Over to you, BBC and ITV!
How the BBC & ITV give disproportionate coverage to Farage & Reform: hard evidence from a serious study. BBC & ITV now give Reform more coverage than the Conservatives, more than the Lib Dems & nine times the Greens. Superb research from @Stephen_Cushion. https://t.co/d07avkMSUw

I remember having my dinner on the train in BR days - a superb experience far better than the buffet car or trolley of today
I don’t remember British Rail being a national joke either, though its terrible ham sandwiches, which always curled up at the edge, were! However BR was starved of funding by all governments, not least Labour. With so many competing demands on the public purse BR was always

Tory Tom Tugendhat defends FPTP by saying PR "puts power into the hands of backroom deals". Meanwhile in the real world the last 14 years of Tory Govts saw the PM changed numerous times by backroom deals with Tory MPs forcing out Theresa May, Boris Johnson & Liz Truss. #Peston

This is appalling
I wish I was surprised. Buried in this Budget is a plan to slash the Digital Services Tax, giving a multi-billion tax cut to US tech giants and the likes of Elon Musk. That's right, cutting taxes for the world's richest man while hiking them for millions of hard-working Brits.

Time to end the disaster of Brexit
NEW from the @LibDems Brexit costing the UK £250m a day in lost tax revenue The UK is losing £250m a day in lost tax revenue due to the economic impact of Brexit, House of Commons Library analysis commissioned by the Liberal Democrats has revealed. The analysis suggests

🚨BREAKING🚨New figures reveal the true cost of Brexit. It's time for Labour to stop being so timid and fix the damage done by the Conservatives' botched Brexit deal. That is the best way to boost growth, put money in people's pockets and properly fund our public services.

The BBC censoring criticism of Trump from one of their Reith Lectures is seriously worrying. The Liberal Democrats have written to the BBC Director General Tim Davie urging him to stand firm against Trump’s bullying and broadcast the lecture in full. @anna4fes

That looks about right- now the strategy to bring it about!
@JDVance No...... Heres the only peace plan: A plan for unconditional surrender of Russia. From a Swedish guy Peter PC Carlsson. This is how it should be. The EU and Ukraine have secretly negotiated a 10-point peace agreement that Russia must now sign within 10 days, or the EU and the

If you want competent government then Farage and ReformUK are a wasted vote …
If you want to beat the left in Britain then the Conservatives are a wasted vote. https://t.co/YTVxL7XTbE

This is the former Welsh leader of Nigel Farage’s Party.
Ex-leader of Reform UK in Wales Nathan Gill is sentenced to 10 & a half years in jail for taking bribes as part of a pro-Russia influence campaign The judge described it as "sophisticated offending"and says the harm it inflicted is "profound" Gill was paid thousands of pounds

Absolutely right - but is he goi to court in the UK - or in the US where the rule of law and judicial impartiality are now somewhat shaky propositions?
The legal advice to the BBC I am told is that President Trump was not meaningfully damaged by Panorama’s manipulation of his 6 January speech, and that therefore there is no legal necessity to pay him compensation. The BBC board is therefore likely to resist and fight his

So why did Nigel Farage get so much coverage before Reform was so high in the polls?
Number of MPs alone does not determine appearances on BBC etc since that doesn’t necessarily reflect current standing. Position in polls is also a factor — and Reform are currently polling almost double anybody else. So does performance in recent by-elections. Again Reform

This is absolutely correct. The BBC is Britain’s face to the world and must continue to embody the best of British traditions and values. It needs to rediscover its soul and its mission.
The BBC has to defend the values it embodies. The BBC has to make the case for representing British liberal democratic values in a fractured Britain where what it stands for is increasingly contested. Without the BBC making a case for what it stands for it will wither & die.

In real elections up and down the country, it's the Liberal Democrats that are taking on Reform UK's divisive politics.

When Putin arrived in Alaska, Trump met him personally & rolled out the red carpet. When Zelensky arrived in DC, NO US representative was there, only Ukrainian Embassy staff. There was no red carpet. Trump has allied with Putin against the West.
