WFH today, and it's a lot better than I remembered. The biggest improvement is that I block out all my working time on my calendar, so I always know what I want to be working on. Doesn't make the builds go any faster though.

I did this while I was working from home a couple years ago. Started developing some back pain while sitting on a $100 Office Depot chair. One of the better decisions I made that year.

Remote working pro tip: you NEED a good chair (and good posture but that comes after). I got my Herman Miller Mirra 2 for a few hundred dollars, cash. Brand new it's $1,125 but I got it for the same as a shoddy chair from Staples. Here's how:

I played Leaf in 1998. And I picked up Darnold on Saturday.

Since Sam Darnold is now starting to slip into the "worst game in fantasy history" discussion: His minus-8.1 points right now would be the ninth-worst by any player since at least 1950, and the worst since Ryan Leaf had minus-9.7 in Week 3 of 1998.

I use Docs instead of a notebook at my desk, so I've pretty much stopped handwriting altogether. I just wrote a barely-legible birthday card and I feel like I've got to ice my forearm.

I asked some more about it and it's from a company called Intellicheck. I asked if it knew if someone had been kicked out today versus last week, but they got kinda cagey. The website talks about do-not-serve and banned patrons lists:

I'm on a bourbon trail trip with my family this weekend. At Four Roses, they asked for our IDs and scanned them with a phone app. The guy remarked that it made sure our IDs were legit and even told him if we'd been kicked out of another place.

"Spain contains within it more than 505,000 one-kilometer squares. But only 13 percent of them are lived in. This means that the “lived density” for Spain is in fact 737 people per square kilometer, rather than 93."

I'm super biased, but I can't imagine putting a barrier up in front of someone's enthusiasm to start something with an obvious upside - but I see it happen often.

I don't see it explicitly stated that they were email/password pairs, so maybe it's not quite as bad as you'd think? But it's not great, Bob.

Facebook admits it stored some user passwords in plain text, searchable by employees; source says it may have been between 200M and 600M user passwords (Krebs on Security).

Yeah I buy this. I wouldn't begrudge a peer for leaving for a raise - if anything I'd be annoyed at the company for not matching. And we're rarely expected to risk concussions.

Found a new Thai place. First dish had no kick at all, this time I asked for spice and they gave me a 0-10 scale. This was not an appropriate time to use a binary search.
