I, quite literally, don’t know and don’t want to know what my PhD experience would’ve been like w/o the continued support of @_chrisgparker_ , @AppasoJa , and Louis Conway. You guys rock.
Shining some light on an old molecule. Rick (@RickHoman4) developed a heme-based photoaffinity probe and mapped its targets across the human proteome, leading to some interesting findings. Congrats Rick and team!.

1/2 It was my profound honor to have been invited to speak on my developing thesis work at the GRC on “The Chemistry and Biology of Tetrapyrroles”. Our understanding of these molecular phenomena has changed greatly in recent years and I am happy if I can make a small contribution

I am shocked to say the least. As a budding scientist I was sold on and inspired by the mission at Scripps Research. Many of the students and I want to make Scripps Research our home for the duration of our PhD. I detest this decision and am disheartened by it.
.@uf is in talks to take over the nonprofit @ScrippsFlorida medical research operation in Jupiter. The merger would mark a new phase in Florida’s billion-dollar bet on biotech.

Very proud and thankful to have had the opportunity to co-first author this paper with my exceptionally talented lab mates. Congrats to my PI Chris, Post docs Louis and Appaso, and the rest of the team involved in the Parker lab and at BMS! First grad publication in the books.
Check out our recent work in collaboration w/ @bmsnews evaluating different fully functionalized diazirine tags for chemoproteomic studies. Turns out, tag choice has a big impact on what you “see” by MS. We also developed a new terminal diazirine tag.
