#Suez The sight of a ship "beached" in the Suez Canal reminds me of another vessel in similar difficulties in the river Thames, over 150 years ago. This was "The Great Eastern", then the biggest ship in the world, launched from London in 1858. Full story:

Quite incredible (a) that this has happened and (b) that there is no public body overseeing the working of government. There really should be. .
Judicial review I'm part of is starting now over Govt's failure to come clean on Covid contracts. £4 bn of public money is not accounted for. We want to know. ❓what was it spent on.❓who got the contract.❓why did they get it. This is about public trust in Govt.@GoodLawProject.

Some people accuse me of not having a sense of humour, but I doubled over at that one. .
@JimMFelton @CarolineHirons Although the clip is funny, I don’t agree with the comment, which is oversimplistic thinking. Lockdown measures are a huge threat to public health in itself of course and the current disproportionate #Covid measures are costing more lives than saving, eg missed cancer screenings.

They didn't spend 5 months putting together an Excel spreadsheet, that's for sure!.
@MaxCRoser This is as bad as the fact Germany's Track & Trace was Open Source, so the UK could just have used that! Built and run in a couple of hours. Instead, they wrote their own and it delayed everything by 5 months!! . Politics kills. No question! ./end.

I don't normally comment on such matters. but, the use of an Excel Spreadsheet to manage data like this is certainly not good practice, to put it mildly. It was not a glitch but an error in system design. Who runs the show? Ah. .
In the UK the number of cases rose rapidly. But the public – and authorities – are only learning this now because these cases were only published now as a backlog. The reason was apparently that the database is managed in Excel and the number of columns had reached the maximum.

And we do an occasional bit of theatre! How's life at 205, Ada? :).
@GHuddPE I went to uni at 18, 28 and 37. Absolutely loved going back at 37. I had two children under 5 and felt as if my mind was turning to jelly. It was so good for me to have the focus of study. I'm still in touch with one of my lecturers now @RichardHenson3.

SOME are wearing masks. BUT what is the matter with the others? Yes it is outdoors but they are almost on top of each other. No date is given but if the number of deaths was over 200000 it must be September.
Future generations might find it hard to believe that this photo was taken at the White House in the midst of a pandemic that had by that stage killed more than 200,000 Americans.

This is no joke. Social Engineering has definitely gone up a notch.
#COVID19 has forced many businesses to swiftly adopt work-from-home policies, thereby facing numerous new challenges!.The soaring demand for remote access & videoconferencing apps has attracted #cybercriminals who quickly adjusted their attack strategies to profit from the shift.
