@ichoosemag You'd think as the MP for Lichfield they'd know the answer

@2wheelsgoodBrum Awful. And some said it was a cycle lane on this road that made it โdangerousโ. The lane reduction and vertical visual segregation would have made this road a lot tamer.

On the day after an avoidable fatality caused by a car in Sutton Coldfield Town Centre no more dragging of feet on extending 20mph limits in Brum.
WelshGov releases July 25 report on the first 18 months of the "award winning" default 20mph limit for urban and village roads. Speeds down, 26% fewer casualties and little change in journey times. Lives saved, liveability increased https://t.co/6L8bBC3GP8

I see people over on Facebook are having a normal one about potential car parking charges in Sutton Park Don't recall angle grinders being mentioned when studying the history of Henry VIII...

Darren was probably my favourite Yorkshire player growing up - his 191 at Scarborough easily the best one day innings I've seen. But I think he is wrong on this. Kohlis record in Aus is immense, bu in Eng he isn't as strong. Aus not the only place that matters for greatness
Just to be clear as there are a lot of people who think , that I think Joe root is not a great . He is going to be a great, I know that and a wonderful ambassador for our game but needs and he will probably do this next ashes . Get a hundred in Aus and then no dispute .Cheers ๐

Quick pit stop for my first visit to Tokin Tea ๐น๐ผ for lunch whilst the car is for its MOT. The mushroom minced pork rice bowl was delicious, no wonder it was so busy! Sutton Coldfield gets a bad rep but great to see some independents are flourishing ๐ @Sutton_BID

A38 through Birmingham, anyone?
If your city didnโt manage to avoid making huge city-damaging mistakes, you can still do the next best thing โ fix the mistake and repair your city. It doesnโt take that much. Just better vision and leadership. Like Utrecht NL did. Like cities do every day. (via @BicycleDutch)

Bought a shiny new @RibbleCycles hybrid step through on cycle2work to share as a household. Made it about 50m up the road on my way for a haircut before the rear derailleur snapped off at the first gear change. Never seen anything like it. Fantastic ๐

Need to make a last minute booking for dinner tonight. Whittled it down to Folium or Oyster Club but can't decide between the two! #decisionparalysis

People across the UK are gathering today to call for #SafeStreetsNow. In Birmingham, we are meeting at the junction of Wake Green Road and Yardley Wood Road at 2:30pm. To understand why we urgently need safer streets see the quoted tweet. Why not join us?
Last Sunday a little girl was killed & three mothers were injured in a collision in Highgate in Birmingham. They had been walking home from seeing family friends. The whole community is devastated. I spoke to some of the grieving families and friends. #SafeStreetsNow

And Leeds, and even Manchester, just keep on actually doing the growth stuff, and ask for help to do even more growth, and the money still just goes down the drain in Cambridge and Oxford and to a certain extent London. It feels pretty daft to me. No surprise we see no growth.

That's not Sutton Park ๐
The 4th priority is Sutton Park. Some years ago, the then Labour leader of Birmingham City Council and I had an understanding that the Park's future would involve a new Trust made of the City Council, Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council and a national body with expertise 7/8

The cost of freezing fuel duty from 2010 (a 37% real terms cut) is about ยฃ6bn a year. If Britain tolled its motorways at the same price France does, it would raise ยฃ7bn a year. Funny how we can afford free motorways and endlessly declining fuel tax revenues but not a train
