Another #NewPI achievement: the Rich Lab's first poster! Tarun presented his work at the @UConnOUR Fall Frontiers poster session. In such a short time he's gone from learning Python to diving headfirst into bifurcation theory. Lucky to have him as one of my first undergrads!

I've been quiet here because (breaking news😉) being a #NewPI is hard. But my first semester is done! There's been a mix of accomplishments (submitting my first grant!) and disappointments (that grant getting rejected!), but the net is positive momentum. I view that as a win😀

As a #NewPI reviewing a flawed manuscript, I make sure not only identify the flaws but suggest ways they might be remedied in revision. I'm guessing the length and rigor of reviews decays exponentially with time on the job 🤣 @OpenAcademics @AcademicChatter #AcademicTwitter

I just contacted my reps (@SenBlumenthal @SenMurphyOffice @RepJoeCourtney) to advocate for continued full support for the BRAIN Initiative. For a #NewPI like myself, this funding is CRITICAL! It took 5 minutes thanks to this tool from @SfNtweets:
