Mentorship has been crucial for my own development. I realize not all trainees find mentors they connect with. I want to help. I am not sure if this will work... but I am starting a virtual mentor group for trainees (medical students or residents) from anywhere in the world.

Soapbox rant of the day 😤 There is more to an Echo report than EF ‼️ I see far too many patients labelled as "HFpEF" when their reported EF is normal, despite a HOST of other more significant cardiac pathology that is driving their presentation and physiology 🤦♀️ 🧵

@PaulNWilliamz because you feel unseen. If the management types were actually any good, they would know you and know they didn't have to micromanage you ....but then they couldn't justify their continued employment

A diagnostic accuracy study produces a receiver operator curve (ROC) that shows an AUC of 0.72! So... is that a good test? What is a ROC and why do we need them? How come some of them are jagged and others are smooth? Here's a simple explanation: https://t.co/IF5H8WI2IZ

#POCUS spaced rep: The Mickey mouse sign on this leg (screen L to R) is GSV-CFV-FA Mickey's ear looks like it has a cerumen impaction here
Always capture the sapheno femoral junction (SFJ) on your #POCUS DVT studies. GSV thrombosis can be concerning given its proximity to SFJ as there is possibility of dislodgment/progression into the deep venous system. FYI: Found by my intern❤️#MedTwitter

#POCUS Spaced Rep: Oldie but a goodie. I slide from the subxiphoid space along the costal margin while keeping the caudal tip of the liver in view all the way to the anterior axillary line to make sure I don't get faked out. Also follow @dan___kim for all things POCUS!
#POCUS pro tip: don't get faked out by other fluid filled structures when looking for the gallbladder #fakeGBag i.e. bowel, renal cyst
