Newsom only cancelled school for a year and half for public school students. His own kids got to go back to in person school about a year earlier than most at a private school.

The latest national report card shows troubling signs for California students. Reading and math scores dropped again despite record amounts of educational spending. This is the direct result of failed leadership that mandated the longest school shutdowns in the entire country.

I’m glad to see @GavinNewsom prioritize in-person education during this emergency. On Tuesday, Newsom signed an Executive Order aimed at getting kids impacted by the LA wildfires back in the classroom sooner. Notably absent from the order was anything about “remote learning.”
