Since you asked, the Harvard History Dept last hired or promoted a senior historian in a Western field (ancient, medieval, modern Europe) in 2007. Ancient history was outsourced to Classics. Since 2007 eight historians in Western fields have retired or died or left Harvard

@L0m3z It reminds of me of the theory for why the Russians were so good at everything from chess, to wrestling, to hockey. There were limited avenues available for someone who wanted to outcompete in communist society, so they flooded into the zones where they were allowed to shine.

No, nowhere did he argue that. Here is his very important qualifier, which you’ve included in your own screenshot: “as long as you subscribe to the creed of the American founding and the culture that was born of it.” That’s the whole point.
