The first squadron of FA-50PH fighter jets of the Philippines was acquired in 2014, under the PNoy administration. Under Pres. @bongbongmarcos, the @PhilAirForce 🇵🇭 will now receive additional 12 FA-50 Block 20 fighter jets. The contract was signed w/ KAI yesterday, June 3, 2025.

This is good news. The release of the PHP15 Billion unprogrammed funds will probably be utilized for the purchase of add'l two @Philippine_Navy 🇵🇭 Miguel Malvar-class Guided Missile Frigates, and other @TeamAFP projects. Hopefully these new contracts will be signed by this month.
DBM just released the SARO for the allocation of 15B PHP for the AFP Mod. This is likely taken from the unprogrammed funds, this supports my theory that next year's defense budget would also be the same. Whereas any increase would come from the unprogrammed funds.
