Exactly two years since BBC Senior Managers ignored the views of listeners and removed the last Local Radio Late Evening Shows which were a lifeline for many The "All England Shows" which replaced them have no place on LR, and the claim 'they'd connect in the same way' was a lie.

@Realdavebrown @BBC It is utterly dreadful. When the BBC is cutting local radio, a service that makes the lives of so many lonely/elderly people much richer, this dross shouldn’t even be considered let alone get commissioned. It’s indefensible, even to BBC fans. Who the hell thinks it’s a good idea?

And with more and more listeners tuning out… They have definitely made a difference!

@trevjrho @RadloFanatic Its seems a very narrow definition that serving "local" content is local sport and everything else is irrelevant as long as you do local sport. I don't give a crap about sport or local teams - so what does BBC Local Radio have for me? Nadda

@RadloFanatic Indeed. Of course, it's not a Local Radio Show either, it's a Regional Radio Show aired on several Stations. Real BBC Local Radio (other than Sport) at weekends, now barely exists.

@bobballardsport Absolutely, Bob. Having people in charge who cared about Local Radio, and listened to what the LR audience says, rather than patronisingly dismissing their views would be a start. Many good people still in Local including some Managing Editors, but "Senior Leaders" let us down !

All the things we knew it would be...need a complete overall of the BBC hierarchy when it comes to Local Radio.

Good Grief - The Make a Difference Show on BBC Local Radio is truly pointless and awful - niether of interest or relevant to any area in the UK.
