The NHS 10 Year Plan is bold and ambitious, describing a vision of how all want to be treated – with continuous, accessible, integrated care. We welcome the Plan’s recognition of the poor health and early deaths of people facing homelessness as an ‘intolerable injustice’.👇

Today, we joined colleagues with lived experience of homelessness to deliver an open letter to 10 Downing Street. Our message to Keir Starmer: stop discharging people from hospital to the street. It’s cruel and inefficient.

(2/2) The Government has a major opportunity to act now through the NHS 10-year plan and cross-government homelessness strategy. Help us highlight this inhumane practice by signing our letter to Keir Starmer 👇 https://t.co/DQeKhHdFrL

📢 We need your help 📢 Too many people are discharged from hospital to the street. This is an inhumane and dangerous way to treat people recovering from illness. It is also inefficient, contributing to the revolving door of hospital readmissions. (1/2)

Things must change!! 💔
Thanks to @our_MoH for this deeply troubling report and the powerful recommendations it makes, including the mandatory requirement for local authorities to record and report homeless deaths. We can and must do better, and this Government has the opportunity to lead the change.

Great to see @BobBlackman & @PaulaBarkerMP back our call to end street discharges from hospital. The @HomelessAPPG co-chairs have written to Ministers highlighting findings from our review with @crisis_uk of how the Duty to Refer is working. https://t.co/MS8SdqZS5J

🧵There were more than 4,000 discharges from hospital to the streets last year. It doesn’t have to be this way. MPs at @LabourParty Conference can find out how this Government can end discharges from hospital to the street, ensuring there is a #safeplacetorecover for everyone...

We all deserve to be treated with respect when seeking the care we are entitled to. See this new video from @HomelessLink and Pathway, where a lived experience voice explains the importance of compassion when supporting people facing homelessness in A&E👉
