Take a look at these rare noctilucent clouds spotted last night by our BBC Weather Watchers. The highest clouds in our atmosphere, they are formed by ice crystals 40 miles (60km) up. They can be seen in the evening sky about the same time the brightest stars appear.

It may be officially winter in New Zealand, but the temperature in Hastings, Hawke's Bay hit 25.7C on Monday - a new June record for the country. Compare this to Hastings, East Sussex, where it was just 16C on Monday - almost 10 degrees cooler, and it's officially our summer!
