My #PhDpaper is finally out! We estimated the potential contribution of stream metabolism to the CO2 evasion flux in a tropical headwater stream using >2yr high-frequency O2 and CO2 data #SpoilerAlert it’s super high! @ClementDuvert @Dr_Damo77 @egarc07

Apologies, I think I might have mis-identified this predator, it is probably a brown goshawk at the Watarrka spring. I am much more confident that it's prey is zebra finch.

Life & death at the Watarrka perennial spring. After almost a decade of camera trapping at this site, this is the first image of a predator, a collared sparrowhawk together with it's prey, a zebra finch. Both species visit this spring often, so it was only a matter of time!

We’ve sampled 50+ tropical streams in just 10 days (and we aren’t done yet). What did it take? Lots of planning and labeling tape, ~4000km of driving and 6 wheels of cheese @ClementDuvert

A new #NESP paper highlights the cost of not acting on the serious threat of #invasive #gambagrass. Delaying gamba grass management increases costs & threatens popular visitor areas in Litchfield National Park – an iconic national park in the NT.

New research has shown that gamba grass covers 20% of Litchfield National Park and could increase to 30% within a decade. Major investment is urgently needed to protect the Park’s incredible biodiversity and stunning natural areas from gamba grass. https://t.co/Oh1K0Eb6UW
