Austerity was an absolute disaster. If we are to have a strong economy, we need more investment particularly in deprived areas.

More cuts to public services would be EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE of what the country needs after 14 years of austerity. Strong public services are the bedrock of a strong economy, not optional extras 🏥👩‍⚕️🚸💡🧑‍🔧🚌🚄.

It is an outrage that Thames Water has been allowed to accumulate so much debt. The government has been asleep on the job for years, so it would seem.

It should be that companies and billionaires support the country that is making them rich by paying their fair share of taxes. It is the government's job to ensure that this happens. Clearly there is one rule for the rich and another for the rest of us.

The average billionaire in the UK gets £300m a year in tax avoidance benefits. The top companies Shell, BP, Amazon. are getting up to £5bn each. If we are cutting benefits, cut them for billionaires and trillion dollar companies who definately don't need them.

It does not matter who wins an election, the government will be controlled by the corporations and financiers. Just the threat of action by "the markets" is enough to bring down the government. We are in an abusive relationship but it does not have to be this way.

Labour has sold out to the "markets"! It is probably too late to take back control of the party. It might be time to think about what will replace it.

Privatisation of water services was supposed to be regulated. Not exactly been a great success though. If this is the best they can do, then it is time for public ownership.

Amidst the driest Spring in 69 years, the National Drought Group says many water companies’ plan for drought is « simply praying for rain. » . Private water companies cannot adequately prepare us for the existential threat of climate change. It's time for public ownership.
