Sadness at the end of an area but enormous pride at the lives that 5131(BD)Sqn has saved and its support to air ops over many decades. The bravery and skills of these men and women represent the very best of @RoyalAirForce. The baton now passes to our @BritishArmy colleagues.
No 5131 Bomb Disposal Squadron stands down. Their history includes almost every conflict since WWII, the fallen of 5131 (BD) Sqn are foremost in our minds. Our heartfelt thanks go to these remarkable men and women, past & present, for their service and sacrifice.

A great example of innovation from our superb engineers.
A small team from 47 Squadron, based at @RAFBrizeNorton, who won the RAF100 Engineering Competition in 2018 with an innovative idea for recycling waste hydrocarbons, is helping to boost the drive to decarbonise the military. Full article:

The new submarine-hunting Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft arrived in the UK today at @Kinloss_Bks in Scotland. The P-8A Poseidon “Pride of Moray” is the first of nine aircraft that the RAF will introduce to patrol the waters around the UK. Full story:

Congratulations to the two courses of Basic Entrants Scheme students who graduated from RAF Cosford this week. We wish them every success on Initial Officer Training at RAF Cranwell starting in January and look forward to their return to complete specialist training later in 2020

RAF FAULD DISASTER . OTDH At 11:11 am on Monday, 27 November 1944 an explosion destroyed a large part of the site and killed about 70 people. Many of our regulations mil & civ were born of tragic disasters like this one. #lestweforget #harmfulharmless
