Circling back to this bc I just booked a meeting off a cold call. Didn’t use a script. Didn’t drop a CTA. Didn’t ask if they ā€œhad 27 seconds.ā€. I did 3 mins of research. Found a seasonal promo + rising traffic trend. Referenced it on the call. They booked. Timing + context > any.

99% of reps would never try this. Too worried about looking weird. But the 1%?.They book meetings by walking into the building. Sales isn’t hard. It just takes balls and creativity.

Called a CEO of a $20M HVAC company. He picked up. Said he wasn’t interested. I ignored it. Not rudely. Just didn’t accept it as final. Kept asking questions.Kept assuming there was a reason he picked up. 7 minutes later, we had a meeting on the books. Lesson: ā€œNot interestedā€.

Biggest lesson:.Don’t just ā€œbreak inā€ to tech sales. Break in with a blueprint. Audit orgs like an operator, not a desperate applicant. I didn’t at first. Now I do.

Plan now:. Stack roles. Onboard quietly. Use PTO from job #1 to ramp into job #2. Do the bare minimum at job #1. Go all-in on the role I actually care about. Building leverage. Not just working jobs.

Fast forward:. I’ve got a job. Got multiple offers. Just accepted one from a company I see long-term upside with (80% RepView score). But I’m still interviewing. Always sharpening.

Then I found @BowTiedCocoon. Started studying RepView like gospel. Learned what real sales orgs should look like. Set a new bar: only interview w/ companies 80%+ RepView.

2025 feels like a bull run if you know how to hunt. People keep saying the market’s trash. Can’t relate. Multiple job offers extended to me in the last 2 months. Got a final stage this week. Might just stack ā€˜em and 3x my base while I go all-in on the one I actually want.

Your brain doesn’t know the difference between memory and imagination. So spend the day marinating in the reality you want. Mid-day gut check:. ā€œAm I thinking like the version of me who already won?ā€. If not, recalibrate. You’re rehearsing the wrong future.
