Substantial shifts in the NAM on the morning EPS run. The AO goes from certainly positive to an abrupt negative. This absolutely will have downstream colder risk implications 12-31 and beyond. We're in a good spot but need to be patient and not swing for the fence yet...

A persistent negative East Asian Mountain Torque (-EAMT) is helping to keep the jet retracted. As such, the Bering Sea Ridge should continue to stay put for the time being. This allows the US East Coast to be warmer compared to what it has been.
