So not only I find that my tutor and supervisor have been fired, that the course I had signed up for two years ago is apparently not relevant as they have decided to close it, no lecturers to give out lectures, but on top of that, I also have no money. Thank you @RoehamptonUni

Yet another sad loss to our academic community. @RoehamptonUni have pushed so many fabulous academics out in their purge of academic staff. Over a quarter of the academics will have left over this summer @ucu @UcuLeft @ucu_solidarity
The last few months have been among the hardest of my life. I have been at Roehampton for 12 years and, in that time, I have developed enormously as a teacher & researcher. It is therefore with great sadness that I have decided to leave the university at the end of August. 1/4

Students have been told by senior management that the University demonstrates its commitment to learning with pretty new buildings. In reality, students value ‘world leading’ research + expertise in a respective field! #roestopthecuts

THIS - the job cuts colleagues @UoRClassics face are terrible for #Classics, terrible for #inclusion, and should not be going ahead. The great work that they do with their students is leading to wonderful outcomes, in all kinds of ways. #SaveRoehampton
I'm in the process of writing a report on the two CA disability panels for @cucdbulletin / @CucdEdi and I cannot emphasise strongly enough how important Roehampton is and how destructive losing them would be to the positive development of inclusive and flourishing Classics.
