Infrastructure improvements—like a connected network of protected bike lanes and low-car-volume streets—and policies—like an e-bike incentive program and low-cost bikeshare—would result in a significant number of people shifting trips from cars to bikes. https://t.co/JsXoUOAyxP

More parents are driving kids than ever before. The result is mayhem.

A person shared this video highlighting the flaws of Arguello Boulevard’s bike lane design. Paint-only, unprotected bike lanes are not longer dangerous for people on bikes, but they’re confusing for car drivers. Support curbside protected bike lanes now: https://t.co/tl24q9wbjn

The plea agreement made with the person who killed Ethan Boyes sets a dangerous precedent. But also, the Presidio Trust should follow through on its commitment to install protected bike lanes on Arguello Boulevard. Sign and share the related petition now: https://t.co/qtasG21rKd

At right: Ethan Boyes’s ghost bike, marking the spot where he was killed. At center: a white car illegally parked. At left: a man on bike thus forced toward oncoming traffic. The trustees of @presidiosf are to blame. They broke their promise of a “protected” bike lane.

It’s been 11+ months since SFMTA created a design for separated bike lanes on Arguello Boulevard and 8+ months since it committed to starting construction in “Winter 2023.” Arguello still has paint-only, unprotected bike lanes that make the street unsafe: https://t.co/qtasG21rKd

It’s been exactly one year since Ethan Boyes was killed while biking on Arguello Boulevard in the Presidio, and the Presidio Trust still hasn’t installed protected bike lanes on Arguello despite committing to do so. Please tell @PresidioSF to follow thru: https://t.co/tl24q9vDtP

Our city has a roadway safety crisis and we must take immediate action to address it. Every roadway fatality and injury is preventable. My piece on the steps San Francisco can take right now to transform our streets and address our roadway safety crisis: https://t.co/d0GX2EUL9S

The Presidio Trust and SFMTA continue to leave people unprotected and unsafe on Arguello Boulevard, despite 2,000+ people demanding — pleading — for protected bike lanes on Arguello. I’ve reached out to the Presidio Trust multiple times about meeting; instead, it said this ⬇️😔

“[It’s] painfully apparent that these changes were merely Band-Aids on a gaping wound. The dangerous, windy stretch of [Arguello] where Ethan’s life was taken remains largely unchanged. This highly used cycling corridor should have protected bike lanes.” ➡️ https://t.co/qtasG21rKd

How many more people need to be killed or injured to make this a priority and have the design installed? How many more months must children, parents, seniors, and people with disabilities wait for Mayor Breed and the City to take action and increase public safety for all people?

When will SFMTA install the design it created 10+ months ago using the $1,200,000 @PhilTing secured? Will @LondonBreed step in and direct SFMTA to install that design immediately? Will she say anything about Arguello and the deaths/injuries or support protected bike lanes on it?

• 9+ months since SFMTA “[began] work on the Arguello Safety Project” • 5+ months since @PhilTing secured $1,200,000 for protected bike lanes and SFMTA estimated construction starting in “this winter” (2023). • 1 month since a 72-year-old man killed at Arguello and Fulton

As I said, SFMTA and the Presidio Trust have done next to nothing to make Arguello safer for people: "There's no concrete protection, actual protection that would keep a car from entering the bike lane. That's what people want to see up there." The Presidio Trust’s response ⬇️😔

SFMTA had a design for separated bike lanes on Arguello between Fulton and the Arguello Gate 10 months ago (May) and @PhilTing secured $1,200,000 in funding for protected bike lanes to be installed. SFMTA can install the design using “quick build” materials. Why aren’t they?

@fauvescraper @SFMTA_Muni @ProtectArguello SFMTA continues to delay taking action to make Arguello safe for children and all people. SFMTA has a complete “quick-build” design, support from three supervisors — including the two whose districts neighbor Arguello — and $1,200,000 in funding from @PhilTing. Time for action.

Nearly a year after cycling champion Ethan Boyes was killed while biking on Arguello Boulevard, the Presidio Trust and SFMTA haven’t installed protected bike lanes on Arguello. Paint and plastic are not protection — we need action now. Sign the petition: https://t.co/qtasG21rKd
