Spring marks the start of coyote pupping season, lasting through fall. Coyotes in the Presidio may be more protective of their young. To prevent conflicts, parts of the Park Trail and Bay Area Ridge Trail are closed to dog walking. Learn more about coyotes

Did you know the Presidio is a city within a city? We have 700 buildings, 3,500 residents, 370 businesses, and more. All this is managed and maintained by just over 300 staff members and the revenue we receive goes toward caring for everything in the park.

Did you know the Presidio had 9.5+ million visits in 2024, including 337k children at the Outpost and 143k guests at the Field Station. We provide visitor amenities through earned revenue and without annual taxpayer support.
