Evanston did it, and so can we. This week, I introduced legislation to do away with exorbitant move-in fees and fix our security deposit system. https://t.co/cBS0mcXVXv

Security deposit regulations overreached. So now Chicago is stuck with worse “move-in fees.”

Let me be clear: Lowering the speed limit is about making our streets safer, NOT generating revenue. On Wednesday my resolution focused on reforming our ticketing structure will be brought for a vote. We can do this in a way that prioritizes safety without burdening Chicagoans.

We acknowledge that the challenges created by the reprehensible and inhumane actions of Texas Governor Greg Abbot are unprecedented...but evicting new arrivals from the only place they have to live won’t address these challenges; rather, it will exacerbate them.

The Pretrial Fairness Act will #EndMoneyBail, one of the most glaring racial injustices in our criminal legal system. Law enforcement has claimed that this change will make our communities less safe. Listen to Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III explain why that's simply untrue:
