Farmers and local farm shops are increasingly using social media to sell their food. Supermarkets pay them pittance for their food and a vindictive government punishes them. So they are taking the matter into their own hands and trying to sell direct via social media.

@angusgowthorpe @CLAtweets @NFUtweets They are now relying on pretty much all that revenue coming from those too old or sick to plan now That’s utterly disgusting taxation policy frankly that surely no politician can defend

The @UKLabour amendment is a welcome, overdue admission that the family farm tax was wrong & it does help smaller farm businesses. But this thread shows why it doesn’t go far enough to give the industry confidence to invest and grow. 📊 8% of farms produce 57% of UK output
Labour's revised death tax will lose huge amounts. The Treasury now predicts that its post-climbdown family firm & farm death tax will raise a measley £370m, - a rounding error in the public finances - but that is still a huge overestimate - this tax will actually lose lots of

ANDREW NEIL: In 55 years of covering politics, I’ve never accused ANY government of congenitally telling untruths. But Starmer has taken lying, gaslighting and deceit to a new level https://t.co/HRZw3ma68g

How can you tell when politicians are lying? Their lips are moving. It's a hoary old joke but it can still be guaranteed to raise a rueful chuckle among British voters disillusioned with the politi...

To everyone who took to the streets, who wrote to their MP, or who joined in the protests - thank you. This is a significant step forward and will protect many more family farms and family businesses from crippling tax bills that targeted generations of British farming and

I spoke up for farmers in Parliament yesterday. Labour Ministers sat there laughing - all whilst farmers watched on from the public gallery. This is the level of disrespect our farmers have come to expect 👇

I hope he sees some humanity soon that’s what Christmas is about Or for some farmers it’s there last Christmas @loosecollie @TWBFarms @wheat_daddy @MartinDaubney
@CatSmithMP and @amcarmichaelMP asking some very direct questions of the PM. Starmer admits he knows some farmers are considering suicide because of his policy, he knows there are changes that could prevent this, but he is choosing not to change course. Words fail me.
