Had a very interesting time at the #RoyalArtilleryMuseum Stores Open Day at Larkhill, Wilts, on Weds. A fascinating 'mini museum', with cannons, field guns & howitzers from the late 15thC to the Napoleonic & Boer Wars, #WW1 & #WW2. For more dates see

Just finished Peter Bull’s excellent #WW2 memoir ‘To Sea in a Sieve’ (1956). In the RNVR from 1941 (Ord Seaman) to 1946 (Lt Cdr), he served in Landing Craft Tank and Flak in the Mediterranean - Sicily, Anzio etc and all the way to Venice. His humour balances the tough times.

Great to see my article about identifying a #WW1 Ox and Bucks Light Infantry officer in the latest @britainatwar. Fascinating to talk to Ingram Murray about the 10yr investigation and the surprise as to who it was. These items were found with the body. @sofomuseum /Colin Morris

In Leamington Spa today and spotted the town’s war memorial. Many names from WW1 and WW2, but I was struck by four around the back from the Korean War and the Falklands conflict. #memorials

This has been a fascinating read - I picked up @James1940 and @almurray's 'Victory '45' when I was at Tankfest at the @TankMuseum last month. A fresh way of looking at the remarkable stories around the surrenders that finally brought #WW2 to an end across the world.

Excellent article by Gerry van Tonder in the latest issue of @CMVMAG about the restoration of a Sexton Mk II SPG by the Garrison Artillery Volunteers. Based on the chassis of the Canadian Ram, the vehicle was taken into service in late 1944. @GarrisonArtill1 #WW2 #artillery

Just had the pleasure of interviewing Chris Price and Chris Copson from the @TankMuseum on behalf of @britainatwar magazine. Thank you both for a great chat! Here's the museum's Matilda I in the arena at this year's #Tankfest. #WW2
