WOW – The IEA has boosted its latest renewable forecast by another 16% Just 9 months ago, in January 2024, its Renewables 2023 report forecast 3,200GW of capacity – mainly wind and solar – would be built around the world during the five years 2024-2028. Now, in Renewables 2024,

Last week I shared a survey showing more than 9 in 10 EV drivers would never go back to petrol or diesel cars. I was told by some that the survey was biased because it was facilitated by @FullyChargedShw. Well here’s another one this time from @TheRAC_UK. Same result.

The Telegraph https://t.co/58Woa8BWeK claims “Britain might be leading the world on Net Zero, but no one is following.” In fact, Climate Action Tracker classifies the UK’s effort as insufficient. 9 countries are classified as almost sufficient

Ministers told to cut hurdles for solar panels on tenements. From 2008 to 2014 I worked on tenement solar projects. Scotland has made no progress in the last decade - in fact we can’t even organise repairs because of delays in owner tenet association laws.

Incredibly simple tech can supercharge the race to net zero. To even out the intermittent power supply from renewables, we need energy storage facilities. It turns out the best solution might be cheap, simple ideas like heating bricks and lifting weights.

I want this question answered, not to be fobbed off. And I would imagine most Scots would be seriously concerned about such an incident so close to home. When will the @UKGovScotland provide the people they serve with the answers we need? Great question @DeidreBrock

I asked the Scottish Secretary to confirm if there was a radioactive leak beyond safe levels at Faslane last year, after my questions exposed a rise in serious nuclear safety incidents at the bases. Neither he nor the MoD think we have a right to know.
