Clearly the qualification criteria is, "I wanna get paid." That's it.
The qualification criteria for players at the WCL seems to be all over the place. Current domestic players, players who have retired from all cricket and even players who not so long ago were playing international cricket. Surely it should be a simple rule that only players who.

One of the reasons my daughter loves the Hundred is because she can watch women play a match in the same ticket as seeing a men's match. Getting to not only meet but watch two England World Cup winners at the Hundred back in 2023 made her a fan for life.

Having covered The Hundred in a work capacity for Cricinfo and taken my daughter as a fan, I laugh when old school English fans continue to crap all over it. Ask any professional women's player if the Hundred has been bad for growing women's cricket and you'll never find one.

Wrong. Manchester schools were out on July 19. I asked if she wanted to go to any day of the Test and the answer was no. She likes the fact that the Hundred has a women's and men's doubleheader in the ticket. She'll go for 7 hours and get to watch women play as well as the men.

My nine year old is excited to go watch the Hundred during summer break and has repeatedly asked me to buy tickets. My nine year old has zero interest in Test cricket, did not want to go to the match that just concluded. Make of that what you will.
Still in July, and the final Test match of the English summer starts in two days. Two months of the summer left and school holidays have just started. It saddens me that they've squashed a fantastic series against India into six weeks to clear the way for The ****ing Hundred.
