it’s crazy that a movie this commercially successful will have zero cultural impact and will not live on in our cultural memory whatsoever. nobody is going to quote lines from this movie or make any reference to it in the future, it’s entirely forgettable. and disney knows it,

Very well said, thank you for sharing this. Age doesn't change abuse and trauma. Pawbert being 30ish just makes it more tragic, but it doesn't mean "irredeemable." I'm 22 now, but I didn't even feel like an adult until I escaped my cycle of abuse at 21. It's never too late.
