We’re hearing that judicial review is why we have delays in infra & housing delivering. JR is a constitutional right. It’s an under resourced planning system which is causing delays. I noted that increasingly developers are taking out JR. Glenveagh Developers have 3 active JRs

Sudan is a forgotten crisis, under reported and under funded. I’m calling for the Government to push for sanctions for those responsible for war crimes & to have a debate on how Ireland can strengthen EU wide response to the humanitarian disaster taking place.

Last week my first bill in the Seanad was debated. My bill offers survivors of domestic violence a free travel pass for 3 months to rebuild their lives. My bill aims to empower people who have experienced coercive control and isolation.

Israel said the Gaza ceasefire had ‘resumed’ after the IDF killed over 100 people in a bombing campaign. Ceasefires cannot be paused by an aggressor when they feel like bombing civilians, and then resumed when it suits them. @PatriciaSocDems

Israel’s violations of the incredibly delicate ceasefire agreement in Gaza are war crimes, according to Social Democrats foreign affairs spokesperson Patricia Stephenson. Senator Stephenson said:...

For many people all around the country, it doesn't matter who the leader of Fianna Fáil is. What matters is whether or not they can access essential public services, afford to buy groceries or own their own home. A change in FF leader will do nothing to solve these issues.

🗣️ "...It doesn't actually matter who is the leader. I think the things that matter to them is, is their elderly parent going to be sitting on a trolley in hospital?" @PatriciaSocDems on whether a Fianna Fáil leadership change really matters to the public. #TonightVMTV

Political change doesn’t happen from the top down - it’s from the ground up. If you have been inspired by Catherine Connolly’s inspiring campaign and her stunning victory - and want to have a role affecting real and lasting change - consider getting involved with the @SocDems.

Brilliant to be celebrating Catherine Connolly’s historic win at Dublin Castle alongside @TomClonan - whose made sure that the voices of people with disabilities were front and centre of this campaign.

The Govt says it wants to support domestic violence survivors. Yet, it is delaying legislation from @PatriciaSocDems which would give free travel passes to survivors and their children. This is a small measure - but would send a powerful message. Why is the Govt delaying it?
