If you are a Madrid or Barcelona player you enter the Top 5 just on your club aura, players from other leagues enter based on their numbers. Vini in the Top 5 with 0 G/A and 2 big chances missed in the CL after 3 games. I thought the CL is THE competition that determines all.

This fan base became like a character from a bad soap opera … The last sentence is actually funny and you can imagine ominous music in the background while reading it: “The margin for error is zero. Zero. ⏳❗️”
🚨 Understand: The pressure on Arne Slot at Liverpool has reached a critical level. Internal discussions are ongoing after the historic, unprecedented run of four consecutive Premier League defeats. The hierarchy is extremely unhappy with the recent performances and trajectory.

Everyone knows when it’s Arsenal the real question is about open play xG not overall xG, which are highly inflated by their xG from corners as by default corners have the ball in high value xG positions. But, DataMB wants some cheap attention.
🏴 Premier League Teams ↑ Touches in the box per 90 → xG per 90 Arsenal 👀 Plot teams 👉 https://t.co/McR5zrPkTO

BS. If Dom plays 1 bad game they will post a question to their 1m followers: “Should Dom be dropped?” with the majority of their followers agreeing “Not enough, send him back to Hungary”.
He could be the worst player on the pitch in every single game from now on and he'd still be our Player of the Season 🇭🇺

The Palace game is an interesting one. In normal circumstances should play with team B in EFL Cup, but another loss will add more noise and pressure. When it rains …

They are like hungry hyenas desperate to tarnish the reputation of every legend we have. Drop this and sell that. VVD is playing with two fullbacks that create chaos, inconsistent Konate, and open midfield. VVD is probably frustrated, angry and tired of the mess around him.

I had the same formation back in August to use when Mo at AFCON, but now The Anfield Wrap contributors dropping Mo to make room for every new player. If based on form, we’ve seen nothing from Isak to justify inclusion or from Wirtz to justify changing the system to fit him.
Parking the back 5 for a min cos it's fair to say whichever FB options he goes with its not perfect but I'd like us to move towards the FBs giving proper width with this 6 in front. Wirtz with license and the CMs being compact when required and 2 forwards offering great movement

Sam with another excellent article. Balanced argument with the relevant support. I liked his concluding points:
Mohamed Salah is having fewer shots and his chances are of lower value. The misses now matter more but the way he's being used is doing him no favours. Slot needs to fix that problem. A look, for @SportingLifeFC.

Asim lazily talking about Mo not defending “deal” with Slot. He ignores: -Liverpool conceded in all games Mo didn’t start: Galatasaray, Frankfurt, Southampton - We conceded from 6 set pieces in last 5 games - 3 goals vs Brentford: long throw, midfield losing possession and pen
Slot needs to get rid of the ‘Salah deal’ for now. Whilst he’s doing that, he can get rid of the other structural deficiencies like the +1 in the backline too. This will help the likes of Wirtz who’s not then having to play the role of Szobo last year. It’s time to go more

I saw some comments ask if the numbers are real or say they are fake, so here is Saka’s record with 1 non-pen goal in his last 15 games and 0 assists in his last 20. You can find the rest on FBref.

Perhaps Liverpool is this season’s PSG. They struggled till December in last season’s CL (3L, 1D, 1W) then it all clicked and became outstanding for the rest of the season. Wishful thinking, but you never know.

3 weeks ago I suggested Jones as Liverpool’s starting RB. We have a fullbacks problem (high risk - low reward) and midfield vulnerability (neither controlling nor progressing). Jones will help with the RB side (he played RB last season in 2 games) and Dom in midfield a must.

In the PL Non-pen goals ▫️Palmer 1 in his last 19 games ▫️Foden 1 in his last 17 games ▫️Saka 1 in his last 15 games ▫️Salah 1 in his last 1 game Assists ▫️Saka 0 in his last 20 games ▫️Foden 0 in his 18 games ▫️Palmer 0 in his last 9 games ▫️Salah 0 in his last 5 games But:

The problem is clear. Liverpool concede too many goals from open play and set pieces. We can’t compete this season with that midfield and full backs. PL 25/26 Goals conceded ▫️Arsenal … 3 ▫️Liverpool ...…… 14 Goals scored ▫️Liverpool ..…...….. 16 ▫️Arsenal ..….………. 16

Arsenal strategy = Set pieces + Not conceding Hate it as much as you want, but at least they have a clear strategy.

Liverpool’s main problem is conceding too many goals (14 like Leeds) not scoring goals (similar to Arsenal & City). PL 25/26 ❌Goals conceded ▫️Arsenal … 3 ▫️Man City …… 6 ▫️Liverpool ..………… 14⬅️ ✅Goals scored ▫️Man City … 17 ▫️Liverpool ….. 16⬅️ ▫️Arsenal ………. 15

Slot is obsessed with keeping Gakpo as starting LW by not replacing Diaz and how he uses Wirtz. Wirtz rarely plays in his favorite position on the left even vs Frankfurt he drifted inside from the right. Wirtz on the left will also help Kerkez provide width as he did at B’mouth.
