Arne Slot sacrificed Mohamed Salah, and by extension the entire Liverpool attack, to shore things up. Short-term pain and no long-term benefit to this approach, a look for @Squawka.

Mo Salah's rant might be justified. @SamMcGuire90 explains how Slot's tweaks have blunted Liverpool’s entire attack. 👇 https://t.co/H8xyXVlAw7

Erm, not really sure Richard Hughes should be getting involved with who is and isn't involved in matchday squads.
The call on whether Mo Salah will be in the squad will be taken by sporting director Richard Hughes in conjunction with the club’s ownership and would underline their support of head coach Arne Slot. via @David_Ornstein

Linekar and Shearer covered it well for me. Said not wise to go public but they understand his frustration. Shearer also said what I have been saying once you drop Mo as Slot has you have to win matches and we haven’t.

We basically played a 5-3-2 at home vs Sunderland. We're also struggling to create now despite playing two of the bottom five during this period.
[🟢] NEW: Arne Slot decided to do that by shifting Dominik Szoboszlai into Salah’s place wide on the right, given the Hungarian’s greater work off the ball. There is a belief internally that with one win and two draws from the past three games that the change has been effective,

My issue with dropping Salah more than anything is Salah should be dropped so you can play the best formation that gets your young, new, expensive attackers in the team playing together. We should be playing Wirtz Eki Isak as the front 3 in a diamond. Instead we're playing

It'd be a different discussion entirely if Salah's numbers had declined because we'd leant into being Wirtz FC or Isak FC. We haven't.

Can't be going after Salah for his lack of output when we're in December and Isak has one Premier League goal and Wirtz has one Premier League assist.

Mohamed Salah is not 'washed'. He's being wasted by Liverpool so far this season. Big look at his numbers, for @Squawka.

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has endured an underwhelming start to the 2025-26 Premier League season. But is it his fault?

Salah's xG has halved and his shot volume has taken a significant hit this season. Nothing to do with his legs, that. Everything to do with the system.

Only Ekitike has more league goals for Liverpool this season btw. The talking point shouldn't be Salah only has five goals and three assists, the question should why does Salah only have five goals and three assists?
🥇| @JamesPearceLFC: "Salah’s comments also showed a glaring lack of self awareness regarding his form so far this season. 'I don’t know why this is happening to me,' he said. 'I have done so much for this club. I don’t have to go every day fighting for my position because I

Would like Arne Slot to set Liverpool up in a professional manner tbh
[🟢] NEW: The board believe Arne Slot should be given the freedom when it comes to tactical decisions and that players should react to those decisions in a professional manner, reports @alex_crook

I do think Slot was given a bit of a hospital pass when the club renewed Salah in the summer. Salah's supply line was cut (Trent leaving) and we removed his facilitator (Szoboszlai being moved away from #10 for Wirtz). So how was he supposed to thrive?

Salah deserved a new contract for his exploits last season. And I think the club also needed a *win* after failing to keep Trent. But nothing about our summer business seemed to point at renewing Salah being smart business. Now we're seeing the consequences of this decision.
