Survivors of narcissistic abuse usually suffer from severe depression. That depression includes suicidal ideation & self harm. If you know someone who has been through it, check up on them. Be their friend. Survivors need a strong support system.

When you're told that you are a disappointment you learn to accept that that's what you are. I've been learning how to reframe phrases so I challenge the phrases that still play in my head. So I'll say something like, "yes, I made mistakes, but I've learned from them. "

When I was a child I learned that peace was a temporary moment. Chaos was always inevitable. I felt like the peace & quiet was something to be suspicious of. So now in adulthood peace & calm makes me anxious. Go figure! I do my best to live in the moment. #NarcissisticAbuse

#NarcissisticAbuse survivors don't like hosting guests in their home. Home is your safe place. You're scared someone may hurt your pets, break something, etc. Trusting someone in your space is difficult because of the abuse you've endured. The unpredictability puts you on edge.

It’s dangerous to believe every person is redeemable. Human predators (narcissists/psychopaths) have brain anomalies of the pre-frontal cortex & amygdala. They can’t change nor do they want to. They are motivated by control & feel no fear. They’re like a different sub-species.
