The deep respect she commanded from clinical colleagues has been an inspiration. She leaves behind a legacy of knowledge and mentorship that will continue to guide generations of pathologists. May she rest in peace. 🕊️💐

While I was a resident training at TN Medical College and Nair Hospital, Mumbai, my post graduate mentor once mentioned Dr. Borges was detail oriented right from when she trained in pathology at the same institute, small example of standards madam set that helped me in my career.

We regularly attended her teaching sessions for surgical pathology unknowns in Mumbai, and as trainees we carried away the discipline and clarity of thought she imbibed in us. The basic tenets of interpreting histopathology that she instilled will forever accompany us.
