Or parents even! Funnily enough we have quite a clear grasp of the issues our children and young people are facing too 🤔😊.
@educationgovuk @bphillipsonMP Are you really serious that it takes 2000 teachers and experts to discuss absenteeism?.You've created a job called Attendance Mentor? 🤣 Do they also have responsibility for Cornflakes?.Perhaps if you had more meetings with teachers instead of Unions, you might learn something🤡.

Until a child feels safe and secure in their environment they won’t be learning much. Maybe we should focus on that rather than ticking a register to say they are there (physically, if not emotionally)? #MentalHealthMatters 💜

Agreed to a certain extent, but when the plans are full of inconsistencies and lack specifics its unsurprising the child is failed (not to mention when schools don’t read or follow them and there seems poor accountability in practice for this).
“Evidence-based interventions don’t work for everyone. some of the evidence can be around what works for a particular child”. David Collingwood, AEP President, spoke to @SchoolsWeek on why EHCP recommendations could be failing some children #TwitterEPs.

Will be watching this pilot with interest. Makes a lot of sense, and will allow calls and sms to remain which is always a barrier for some who need that to feel safe. @GLFSchools 💜 #mentalhealthmatters . Schools to trial social media blackout scheme

Really interesting findings. Lots to this we’re sure (will add to reading pile. ).
The 'Youth Aware Mental Health' (YAM) programme in secondary schools, “unexpectedly, led to increased emotional difficulties at the long term follow up, 9 to 12 months after intervention delivery”. The mental health interventions that make matters worse.

On the ground, parents tell us they are still experiencing a poor service, with many often still unable to receive any support for their child’s #mentalhealth.

Many young people wish they were able to attend ‘just like everyone else’ to have those special moments and experiences. Instead left with guilt, sadness and anger at themselves for being unable to ‘just do it’… @Define_Fine_PS 💔.
And this is coming from someone who actually wanted to be at school. I didn’t want to be homeschooled or to be away from my friends. I just wanted the panic to go. Unfortunately, the environment was too overwhelming and the anxiety around grades too much. 3/5.
